KSRTC bus falls into a 30-foot deep gorge in Idukki; 3 dead

Idukki: Three were killed and several injured after a KSRTC bus fell into a gorge near Pullupara. The bus was carrying a group of tourists who had gone on a tour from Mavelikkara to Thanjavur.
The tourist group was on its way back when the bus met with an accident. It is reported that the bus lost control at a bend and fell into a 30-foot-deep gorge. However, the bus stopped after hitting trees. There were 34 passengers and two staff members on the bus. The accident occurred around 6 am on Monday. It is reported that the brakes failed, and the vehicle crashed.
Fire force teams from Peerumedu and Mundakkayam have left for the spot. A Highway Police team has also left. The Motor Vehicle Department team has also gone to the spot for rescue operations. Initial information is that the passengers have been injured.
