Law student in coma for 15 months following accident dies in Alappuzha

A 24-year-old law student who was in a coma following an accident which happened more than a year ago succumbed to her injuries in Alappuzha on Friday afternoon. Vani Somasekharan, a resident of Thondankulangara Krishnakripa, sustained a serious brain injury in an accident which happened in 2023.
She was knocked down by a speeding car while she was crossing the road on her way to CSI Law College, Ettumanur. Vani underwent treatment at a hospital in Thellakom and later at CMC, Vellore.
For the last three months, she was being treated at home. She was the daughter of Somasekharan, proprietor of Mani jewellery, Ambalapuzha and Maya. Her brother is Vasudev.
